WARNING TO SECTOR 3 RESIDENTS

The Sector 3 Manager, Constable Omphile Fotso is issuing an urgent warning to the residents in sector 3 regarding the crime that is on the increase
Residents are urged to be extremely alert at ALL times of the day and at night and to be Crime Prevention aware.
Herewith some of the serious incidents that were reported in the sector during the past weekend:
House Robbery:
On Friday morning at 11:30 four armed suspects grabbed the gardener and forced him into the house where the owner of the house was. The suspects ordered them to lie down and tied them up and then ransacked the house. They took jewelley, cash and electronic equipment; the suspects fled the scene in a maroon BMW.
Armed Robbery, Rape and Murder:
On Saturday morning at 03:30, the victim (a 20 year old lady) was about to be dropped at her place of residence in Allen's Nek, by her two male friends. As they stopped the vehicle at the house, the two males were allegedly pulled out of the vehicle and the lady was hit over the head with a firearm. All three victims were then pushed into a nearby veld. The lady was raped and one of the males was shot by the suspects. The victim (male) who had been shot passed away on the scene. The suspects fled the scene with the victim’s cellphone and cash.
Theft of motor vehicles:
Theft of motor vehicles is showing an increase in the Weltevreden Park and residents are urged NOT to leave their vehicles on the verges UNLOCKED. In some cases residents are still leaving their vehicles idling in front of crèches while fetching their children. At night vehicles are being left on the verge without being locked and with windows open.
Ensure that you know your vehicle’s registration number, in order for the SAPS to circulate the number if your vehicle is stolen.
